Planet Seva

So, here's the deal. This is my DBZ fanfic... only... it's a bit more complicated than that, So briefly recapping the history (though I think most that will read this have already seen it a million times):

  • *has a DBZ-related dream with clear characters and storyline despite a few slight weirdities that ... could be resolved if one really tried*
  • *Builds on idea from dream and makes a lil book thingy*
  • *builds on that and makes a whole series, with like, two other dream-related events involved*
  • *Makes cartoons on the computer, but they are promptly destroyed by the dreaded FDisk* (Yes, when it says fdisk, the disk does indeed get 'f'd.)
  • *Makes actionfigure movies, but has limited resources, so has to seriously remodel the story*
  • *discovers that fanfiction has a community online and writes fics based on the movies*
  • *Gets involved in rpgs based on storylines related to the online version of the story*
  • *has more dreams in the original continuity and decides to figure out the real canon based only on dreams and what can reasonably be concluded from them*
  • And that's today. Though I won't pretend I didn't make up a few things... especially in part four...

  •   So, without further ado--oh, wait. Yeah, I kinda wrote them in script format, because I started the first one non-serious-like to just put down what I'd figured out for the canon "first season", and it just stuck... though I did go back and clean it up a little. :P.

    Season 1:The Pirates' Plot

Beware of the random battles, Vegeta...

Some mysterious baddies have found a mysterious item and have mysterious abilities. So naturally they use them to annoy our saiya(ji)n friends. But there's a little something they probably didn't count on that just mucks up the whole plot, not to mention the story...

    >Season2:Chaos Ninja

Don't you just hate OC fests?

Well, this underground tournament would be broken by Goku and Co. So the OCs get to go. But... guess what: something unexpected is uncovered, which leads to all kinds of crap... Oh, and did I mention crime and disease are on the rise? And a certain pair of half-saiyan chibis may just find themselves with a destiny...

    Season3: World War Z!

Oh, no, I didn't just use that exhausted technique for creating trouble for the heroes, did I? Well, hopefully it's sort of an original twist this time around... turned out better than I expected, but still not quite as good as it probably should be.

So all Hell has broken loose, and there is a mysterious kind of power somewhere it shouldn't be... and basically, a lot of crazy crap happens. But hey, some character development occurs... actually, quite a lot! Mostly for ocs, but don't you already know the ... urm... not ocs?

    Part4: War Games

Yes, I said part on purpose.

As you can clearly see, power isn't all there is to victory. This one magically ties up some dangling continuity issues between the canon version and the version used in the rpg(s?), but still leaves a lot of random things that make you go "Ok, are you just throwing crap in for the heck of it now?". Well, urm, I hope not!

    Season5: X on Ice

Oho, is that a plot I smell? This time, I actually tried to tie together a crap-ton of stuff, basically filling out a huge chunk of the DB-verse in the process. And if the Villains-from-hell thing is getting old... I think you won't need to worry from here on out. Heh. Enjoy!

Part 6: Image of the BeastFinally! It's kinda rushed.

Someone broke reality. And it only gets worse. If Goku can't fix it, who can?

    Supplements?

Well, you should definitely read some other fics, since I think I've broken too many heads trying to get cross-continuities to fit together so the RPGs and the fics can coexist in one fic-verse. So, check out DBXe, DBFusion, Reunion (For part 4 to make sense), and if you want more insanity, Legacy of Warriors(which is set much later than the others, so we have to somehow not destroy it), and if you're really bold, there's Grand Unification, the first cross-fanfic RPG that features a lot of explosions and... well... fighting. But it's still better than GT, so nya. And then there's Another Saiya-jin, which is kinda necessary to make sense of An RPG?, which isn't split up in a million directions with literally dozens of characters like GU, and focuses much more on characters and plot and... urm... It's really awesome. Read it! ^^ (I think all of those, aside from the RPGs, can be found at ff.net. And DBFusion has more chapters there.)

    Now, for the hard stuff.

In parts 3 and 4, we have a couple ... movie characters. Normally I probably would have just worked around them somehow, but by the time I got there I was well aware that I was trying to fit into the larger fic-verse continuity, which already had heavy references to these two characters. So, I think I'm going to try and go over how they can exist in the fic-verse without breaking things.

I honestly don't find any reason DBZ movie5 (the first Cooler movie) can't fit into normal continuity. There is just one little problem with the fic-verse, and that's timing. Movie6 can't fit at all into the dbz timeline. Movie8 can't really either, but we'll get there in a moment.

So, Cooler has to live to, oh, between Cell and Buu, for the entire Fic-verse to work (well, not necessarily, but the level of angst involved suggests so). Ok, maybe Cooler didn't attack Earth until later? Or survived and returned or something. Meh. It's easily doable, I guess. Him instead of Bojak or something.

Broli. Odds are that Broli needs to live a little longer, but that's not immensely necessary. Though we have a similar situation to Cooler--not quite so necessary, actually, but still...

Now, Broli needs some 'x'plaining. First off... how did he survive Planet Vegeta's destruction? Just by virtue of going insane and having enough power to wack King Vegeta? Nevertheless, Broli and his father survived to do stuff. Now, All of the saiyans are highly unlikely to have been on Planet Vegeta at the time of its destruction, as about a million fanfics have made clear--but Freeza wasn't stupid. He likely tried to keep the saiyans as easy to find as possible, as many on the planet as possible, none he couldn't track, Etc. Goku just happened to be the last pod out-- the others were probably tracked, but Goku had a pretty fortunate stroke of timing.

The others, though--Where was Raditz? Could there be a Tullece out there? It is highly likely that Freeza had them taken out of commission--he had the resources. The Ginyu force may have been involved to prevent any crazy zenkais of death. At any rate, the saiyans were purged--except... Broli and Paragus. Now, is it possible that Paragus grabbed a few people while he could and offered them protection (Broli), and threats (Broli) if anyone ratted them out to Freeza? If such was the case... well, Read this....

So ok, we have Paragus and Broli. We have the beginnings of the plot of Movie 8. But... Movie8 still can't happen. No time for it. In fact, someone convinced me that details in movie8 force it to occur during Goku and Gohan's time in the Room of Spirit and Time. Which, naturally, doesn't make a lot of sense, unless it was a spiritual journey or illusion or something. But then how do we explain Trunks and Vegeta? Did they take this journey too, and it transcends time to put them all together? No, of course not! So what we have is a case of "Character and plot setup yes, execution no". Of course, we could easily put it after the Cell games (Gohan's massive power increase aside--after all, Goku isn't there). The details of this version need not be elaborated on--all we need to know is that Broli smashed things and got hit by a big flaming ball of rock and ice from space and probably died.

Umm, is that it? Well, I'm tired now, so nya. :P
